Loving Home

SHKP Club's "Loving Home with Endless Joy" Competition promotes a blissful life of Loving Home online and offline

SHKP Club launched the territory-wide "Loving Home with Endless Joy" Competition at the beginning of this year to encourage members and the public to share insights on building a happy family. This echoed the annual theme of The Bliss of Loving Home. The competition received an enthusiastic response. We have been pleased to see participants of different ages showing love for families through a variety of works, providing their loved ones with positive energy and great support to realise a Loving Home life. The keys include:

  • Family happiness not depending on money or material things, but above all on the family members' willingness to contribute to each other's well-being.

  • Cherishing and enjoying the time spent with loved ones, having more parent-child activities or family gatherings to enhance communications and create fond memories.

  • Always thinking of family members, being considerate and respectful of each other, and avoiding conflicts to maintain a joyful family.

  • Loving family members, exploring and affirming each other's strengths, and sincerely expressing care to establish a blissful family life.

SHKP Club held an online cum offline prize presentation ceremony for the competition again, broadcasting it live via an online platform. Winners could instantly share their joy at the event with more family members and friends, communicate ways that increase family happiness, and express their gratitude.

Below are the winning entries in each category:

Member Category: "Family Legacy" by Ng Wai-fan
The secret to a blissful family: Take care of your loved ones' physical and mental well-being and have family fun

Wai-fan was very concerned about her two daughters' academic performances, which made her busy or have quarrels with her husband. When her mother passed away from an illness, she remembered that her mother always wanted the family to live joyfully. For example, her mother used to make plastic flowers to earn money for the family, she prepared nutritious food for her children, and when Wai-fan grew up and had a family of her own, her mother would often share cooking and parenting tips. Wai-fan believed that she should pass on her mother's spirit of valuing family happiness as top priority, and began to change her mindset. She realised the importance of having a blissful family life and understood that family members must be more considerate towards each other. Wai-fan stopped giving her daughters too much pressure. She proactively invited daughters and husband to participate in different activities together, such as cooking, going on outings and holding home talent shows, which made her family life filled with joyfulness.

Although Mei-yee and her mother noticed this, they understood and did not blame her father.
